I don’t know if this bothers anyone else, but something I witness people doing casually (almost daily) bothers me immensely. The speaker feature on mobile phones allows one to talk into the phone and hear the other person’s voice at an increased “speaker” volume, so that one can lay the phone down and perform a task that requires hands during the phone conversation. I understand and appreciate the necessity of this function (I sometimes even use the speaker feature myself (especially when I am talking to a customer service rep to solve a problem on my computer)). But what aggravates me about this feature is when one uses it just because he or she is too lazy to hold the phone up to his or her ear. Now surrounding people must be subjected to the noise pollution created by the phone’s speaker! First you have to inconvenience us by making us look at your stupid face, then I must listen to your stupid friend’s stupid voice! *If you do this, I am not talking about you (your face is not necessarily stupid and your friend is not necessarily stupid). I am only talking about other people not reading this.
