The Paralympics starts August 24th. The Paralympics is composed of sporting events featuring physically disabled athletes. For the first time in history, the Paralympics will be nationally televised. So, you have no excuse not to follow along. It is amazing, and very inspiring, to watch what these athletes can do in spite of physical challenges. I specifically recommend watching wheelchair rugby, or “murderball.” Those guys destroy each other. Sport is indeed the great equalizer. If you see someone in a wheelchair out on the street, you might think, “That person is disabled. He or she is ‘different.'” However when you watch wheelchair rugby, you might think, “Look at that athlete knock that guy over and go after that ball. He or she is crazy!”
